Heavy Bag training is fundamental in Boxing and Muay Thai. Plain and Simple. A heavy-bag is a Must. Heavy Bagwork is a must. It must be done. Of all the training tools inside a Pugilist's environment, the bag is probably the most important tools for training power, and for perfecting technique. Although there are numerous forms of heavy bags available on the market, a fantastic old fashion, leather bag that will withstand punishment for a long time is the most suitable.

For the next ten years a Thai Muay will fend for himself becuase of countless spectators, fighting for the money, fighting for his life! The national sport in Thailand, Thai fighting has been in existence for several generations and is also practiced by males and sometimes females too. For thousands of Thai children, Thai Muay fighting may be the commonest path from the ghetto's and poor rural areas of Thailand. A full contact fighting sport, this style will consume nearly all of a Nak Muay's life. Fighting is going to be his life. Training is his life. A typical Thai fighter will pay out 25hours a week or higher perfecting his technique and doing several hundred situps and crunches per day along with running. If the young fighter is not in college chances are he will spend 35 or more hours every week at the training camp. Often his first fight will be for only a couple weeks into his new life like a fighter. He will should toughen himself up quickly and Thai Muay trainers with the camp will make sure from it.

Good exercises to have with your workout are running, sprinting, lifting weights, swimming, cycling, heavy sparring and circuits. In your circuits don't just pay attention to crunches and press ups, add burpees, squats, skipping, jabs and crosses, and planks. Keep it varied as this will only assist your endurance.

Striking techniques have evolved in Muay Thai from the use of simple crosses and long circular blows to techniques that incorporate more traditional varieties of boxing strikes. Jabs, crosses, upper cuts, and hooks are not section of the Muay Thai repertoire. The elbow works extremely well as an effective striking weapon in lots of ways. It has a large amount of prestige in Thailand and is gaining international recognition through world competitions, many of these broadcast on global television networks. And more and more students are spreading the rush and excitement in the sport for their home countries.
