Most wallflowers need a spell of cold to trigger flowering, but this doesn't – plants started flowering in November, carried on through snow and cold winds, and were still producing new buds in June. They weren't in full flower for the whole time and needed deadheading, but they always had enough colour to brighten up the gloomy winter days. The scent was lovely, too. This is well worth considering if you like winter containers or want something in flower year round.
