Tottenham have confirmed that the transfer report for Jan Vertonghen and Wanda de Jong has been changed to include two players from their academy – both of whom will be sold before the end of the season for a higher fee than expected.
Spurs have previously told La Liga newspaper Sport that the transfer fee for Vertonghen and de Jong was in the region of 15.5m euros, with the latter's club Tottenham Hotspur already having reportedly been in discussions with a club near the top of the market for the 23-year-old over recent weeks.
Wanda de Jong, of course, has previously been linked with a return south on loan after a loan spell at Southampton this term, while Vertonghen's future remains unclear. However, Spurs will now reportedly be able to bring both players to Tottenham for a fee that may be considerably lower.
With a contract due to expire in the spring, the move to take Vertonghen on at present may be the ideal time to sell both players to a rival outfit, despite the club's reported willingness to accept a bid in excess of £40m for the young Belgian this summer.
Vertonghen has already failed to impress at White Hart Lane since his £15m move from Anderlecht earlier this season and has not helped the cause for several
