You've seen the statements: Eye creams reduce or also erase the signs of aging: slight lines and dark rings. Yet aren't eye creams just higher priced moisturizers in a smaller bottle?

Not really. Eye creams are formulated specifically for the sensitive skin around the eye, also they tend to be heavier. They contain more oil than a normal facial product, and they contain a lot of active ingredients aimed at the issues noticed near the eyes.

The area around the eyes is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and faster to show age and fatigue. Squinting and sustained movement of the eyes also quickens the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Eye cremes may address some of these issues.

Small lines and wrinkles originate from both sun exposure and your complexion creating less collagen as you get older. Collagen helps sustain the skins elasticity. Vitamin C, peptides have increased collagen production, research of skin cremes show. Ceramide and hyaluronic acid also help; they are moisturizers that assist stopping water loss in the skin and enhance elasticity.

Dark circles under the eyes come from genes, sun damage, age, and blood build-up. Sodium ascorbate, or vitamin C, can help the skin and help hide dark circles after about 6 months. Niacinamide, or vitamin B3, and kojic acid might brighten dark circles.

Eye Puffiness is a buildup of fluid and blood beneath the eyes. Some studies show that caffeine can help circulation, that could reduce puffiness. Other studies show that cold temperatures are as effective to treat puffiness. That is why some people refrigerate their eye creme creams.
