Se describe e ilustra Jaltomata calliantha S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae) con fruta blanca endémica deSalpo, región La Libertad, Perú. Habita arriba de Platanar (ruta Platanar-Pagash y Platanar-Salpo,y, arriba del puente Casmiche), distrito Salpo, prov. Otuzco, región La Libertad, Perú, entre los1425-1870 m de elevación, entre 8º 00’ 86”- 8º 00’ 790” S  y  78º 41’ 47”-  78º 41’ 46” W. Se caracterizaprincipalmente por estilo erecto y rígido, estigma puntiforme o clavado, las bayas blancas a lamadurez, flores solitarias, área soldada de los estambres con un abultamiento basal rodeado poruna densa cobertura de pelos simples transparentes, petalostemo en forma de disco con 5 lóbuloscóncavos en donde se almacena abundante néctar rojo en el área basal del tubo corolino. Presentadiferencias morfológicas marcadas que las distinguen del resto de las especies y es la única  en elnorte del Perú, que posee frutos blancos comestibles, y que podría cultivarse a gran escala, como unpotencial vitamínico por ser agradable.Palabras clave: Néctar rojo, norte de Perú, Andes.

Abstract: Jaltomata calliantha S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae) is described and illustrated. This species has whitefruits and is endemic to Salpo, La Libertad region, Peru. It lives above Platanar (Platanar-Pagash andPlatanar-Salpo routes, and, above the Casmiche bridge), Salpo district, prov. Otuzco, La Libertadregion, Peru, among the 1425-1870 m elevation, between 8º 00’ 86”- 8º 00’ 790” S and 78º 41’ 47”- 78º41’ 46” W. It is characterized mainly by erect and rigid style, punctate or nailed stigma, white berriesat the maturity, flowers solitary, welded area of   stamens with a basal bulge surrounded by a densecovering of simple transparent hairs, disc-shaped petalostem with 5 lobes concave where abundantred nectar is stored in the basal area of   the coroline tube. It presents morphological differences thatdistinguish it from the rest of the species and is the only one in northern Peru that has edible whitefruits, and that could be grown on a large scale, as a vitamin potential because it is pleasant.  Keywords: Red floral nectar, northern Peru, Andes.Citación: Leiva, S.; E.
