RESUMEN

Se presentan los cuadros más notables realizados por pintores famosos, desde aproximadamente cinco siglos antes de CRISTO hasta nuestros tiempos, relacionados con enfermedades y epidemias que siempre han acompañado al hombre y sociedad a través de la Historia. Se destacan características médicas ya sean individuales o en grupos, llegando en muchos casos a una minuciosidad y precisión de detalles dignos de destacar en la enseñanza de la medicina, así como también algunos tratamientos antiguos.

ABSTRACT

The most outstanding paintings created by famous painters are presented, from five centuries before Christ approximately to our present time, related to diseases and epidemics that have always accompanied the manand the society through History.Medical features, either individual or in groups, are high lighted, having, in many cases, thoroughness andaccuracy of details that are worth mentioning in the teaching of medicine, as well as some old treatments.
